Now should i show my bare ass??
Now Uhaul jacked up my reservation. I’m unbuckling my belt.
Now Uhaul jacked up my reservation. I’m unbuckling my belt.
So I’m standing in line at Uhaul picking up a trailer for my office move. There’s one guy in front of me. Kind of looks like Steven Spielberg. There was a problem with his reservation and he got pissed. So pissed, he stepped back, turned around and mooned (yes, bare ass)the cashier.
Classic.
Our neighbor a few miles north, the Redondo Beach Lanakila Outrigger Canoe Club, is holding a fund raiser to help fight cancer.
“So far, we have raised over $1,200 for the Sarcoma Alliance as team members of the Ocean of Hope,” she said. “Our goal is to raise more than $4,000 by Sept. 6, but any time is a good time to give.”

A great cause indeed.
Olaf just passed this article along about an OC6 in Laguna and a Great White.
I spent all of last night watching Shark Week on Discovery Channel. I think I’m going to watch Jaws tonight to completely freak myself out.
A great discussion on paddling mechanics on an East Coast Dragon Boat forum has erupted.
CLICK HERE to read the thread.
What makes this link so interesting is the sniper fire – especially the stuff about Danny Ching being paid to paddle. The thread quickly evolves into a Canada versus US and a FCRCC versus Mayfair debate.
On second thought, maybe it’s not the best thread on stroke length, but nonetheless, very entertaining.
My opinions (as if they matter), perhaps will be posted later in the LARD only section.
Now that Nationals is over, we have some time to get in the OC1s and OC6 again!
Some OC1 footage to get the outrigger juices flowing again….
SteepandCheap.com will have an all Oakley day tomorrow (Wednesday).

Let us know what you get!
Growing up, I used to love math but I hated the word problems. Here’s a dragon boat math problem for you.
LARD recently participated in the US Nationals where it recorded a time of 48.93 seconds in its third 200 meter race of the day.
The Montreal International Dragon Boat Race Festival was held last weekend where they had a demo 100m race (yes, one hundred meters). The winning time was 30.01 seconds turned in by Tripod. The complete results of this race can be found by clicking here (100m results are on page 23).
All other factors remaining the same, if LARD participated in this race, what would LARD’s projected time be if it participated in that 100m race if it was based on LARD’s recent Nationals performance? (Please no comments about paddling in new boats)
Here’s your prize for playing – this year’s 100m race at Montreal with a nice huli:
Thanks, Ev L. for pointing this out! Time to come back and paddle with us!!!!

Pictures to note:
1. Picture 3 of 6 – the beautiful Pinks
2. Picture 5 of 6 – what a beautiful paddle angle – she must be sponsored by Apex.
As most of you know, Nick pulled double-duty this past weekend paddling for LARD and Manayunk (you can see a picture of Nick on their website).
Nick’s team (not LARD, the OTHER one) was the only team to beat Philly in Nationals.
Congrats, Tall Man.
Next time you see Nick, give him some crap – if you dare.
Hey Nick, when are you getting inked?
Here’s an email that Wila, the Visiting Team Coordinator, sent to the out of towners:
