We used to do this in college with air horns.
I need to get a horn like this for the Prius.

LARD in Pacific Paddler Magazine
Pacific Paddler Magazine, a magazine that covers mostly the outrigger community in Hawaii, has an article on the 2008 USDBF Nationals held in Long Beach.
A picture of LARD is part of the piece. The direct download to the article can be found HERE.
Or you can download the entire pdf version of the magazine by CLICKING HERE. Scroll to page 22 of the pdf file to see the article.
The article is a bit inaccurate as it doesn’t mention that LARD was one of the teams in the National Championship but we got our picture in!
Let’s support the outrigger community by buying an oc1!!!
For Those Still Not Sure and For Those Who Are Sure
For those still not sure who to vote for – from a commercial Obama is running in Arizona – McCain’s homestate.
“John McCain in his own words. ‘I’m going to be honest: I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still need to be educated.’ — Wall Street Journal,11/26/05 …
‘The issue of economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should.’ — Boston Globe Political Intelligence, 12/18/07 …
‘I might have to rely on a vice president that I select’ for expertise on economic issues. — GOP Debate, 11/28/07 … His choice? … [Palin] … On November 4th, You Get to Make Yours.”
And this gem from Obama’s camp for those of us that know what we are going to do in the voting booth:

The Saw V billboard is one of the scariest billboards I have ever seen.

This is even scarier…

Midas Didn’t Like His Diaper
As reported earlier, Midas has been having problems going to our parents’ homes as he feels inclined to mark his territory IN the house. So Vi took hold of the situation and decided to put Midas in diapers while he’s out visiting.
The first run was, depending on how you look at it, a success. The good news was no furniture was pee’ed on. The bad news was that there was pee in the diaper.
Anyways, Midas got his revenge. The unused diapers were left on our table Monday morning when we left for work. When Vi got back, this is what she found…
Kobe’s New Commercial

Back to Paddling for a Bit: OC1 Time Trial – The Bar Has Been Set (Very Low)
Chuck and I decided to do an oc1 timed piece after the oc1/oc6 session yesterday (10/26/08) (actually, Chuck said, “Hey Scott, wanna race around the island?”). We started at the bridge next to the boy scout area and went clockwise all the way around the island back to that bridge.
We allowed wake riding but neither of us found any significant wake to help us.
We were pretty much right next to each other the whole way – Chuck edged me out by a foot or 2… We were in the same boats (Huki V1-X) and the conditions were relatively calm.
Distance: 2.46 miles; Total time: 24m 54 seconds; Average speed: 5.9 mph; Max speed: 7.8.
Here’s the Motion Based link to the GPS information.
Here’s the google map:
Now the bar has been set. I hope at least a few of you can give the loop a go.
Let me know how things go!
