i’m currently running the core 2 quad and it’s a great processor. def get the 27″ iMac with the quad.

Charter is absolutely terrible. W/o going into detail I’ve had similar experiences w/ them in the past. If you think their TV technicians are bad just imagine their high speed internet folks, especially if you live in a condo/townhouse complex. They can’t fix one resident’s line w/o screwing up another owners. The only thing Charter is good at is giving credits.

Unfortunately, it would be quite aggravating to change over to DirecTV as not only does Charter provide (well, it tries to provide) cable tv, we also have it for internet and phone.

I spent close to 1grrr on the TiVo with the lifetime subscription. The UI is unbeatable.

So far, my bitching has gotten me over $200 in credits.

Just save the aggravation and go with Directv and sell your Tivo while it’s still worth something. It’s similar to the advice you gave me in regards to my OC1 purchase.
