Some of you know that Vi and I have been in the running for getting one of the limited Mini Cooper Es (it runs on electricity – no gas).

BMW/Mine is only releasing 500 of these plug in vehicles with 250 going to California.  There were thousands (at least 10,000 in October) that applied.

Vi and I made the first cut – we were down to a 50-50 chance of getting the fully electric vehicle.  Monrovia Mini will be receiving 25 and they had 50 people eligible (including Vi and I).

Unfortunately, we weren’t selected.

I’m feeling mixed emotions – I’m bummed I won’t be getting an electric car any time soon, but I’m also pretty stoked I won’t have the shuck out almost $1,000 per month to have the honor of driving the Cooper Mini E for  one year.

Wow, 1G a month to be a guinea pig… BMW might have been able to pull it off when gas was at 5 dollars, but this just doesn’t make sense.
