Happy Dragon Boat Day

May 28, 2009

Wouldn’t it be great if the U.S. recognized Dragon Boat Day and give us a Friday or a Monday off so we could go paddle?

Well, in China, not only do you get one day off from work – you get THREE days off!

Beginning today, May 28 trough May 30, China will be celebrating the Dragon Boat Festival Holiday.  If you are stuck working on May 28, you get 300% of your normal wage.  If you have to work on the 29th and/or 30th, you get 200% of your wage.

Mike Young at HPC is in China working with athletes and coaches over there.  He recently posted on twitter that there are dragon boat races everywhere in honor of the holiday.  IT MUST BE NICE!!!!

In honor of Dragon Boat Day, we’ll be doing the HPC midweek at the Rose Bowl tonight at 7pm.  Achilles will be in attendance showing off his fresh manicure/pedicure.  Unfortunately, I’ll only be directing the workout and not partaking directly as I’m still recovering from some back issues.  Come on out for a great workout – I know Allison really enjoyed the HPC workout last night in LB!
