Stealing Stuff at Mother’s Beach

June 23, 2009

I was just made aware of a problem that has arisen at Mother’s Beach.

There appears to be an individual or group of individuals stealing cash from paddlers on the beach.  The perpetrator waits for the paddlers to start practice then goes through the paddlers’ belongings.  The belongings appeared to have been locked in the shed.

At this point in the police’s investigation (yes, the police are involved), it is undetermined if the perpetrator(s) is a member of the paddling community or not.

Please be careful with your valuables.  To be super-safe, don’t bring anything of value to the beach – especially since we have the 4th of July weekend coming up.  If belongings locked up in a shed can be stolen, surely things left around a tree can be jacked as well.

Be safe.
