Twilight Zone

February 14, 2012

Some recent happenings that make me think I’m in the Twilight Zone.

~ On signing day, UCLA football was talked about more than USC football,

~There is hope for UCLA football.

~ The Clippers are more exciting to watch than the Lakers,

~An Asian American (Jeremy Lin) is on a fantastic run in the NBA and appears on this week’s Sports Illustrated cover.

As a photographer and an Asian American, this photo is great to me on so many levels  – the 5 Lakers surrounding Lin frame him perfectly for the picture.  It a photo of an Asian American taking it to more traditional NBA players.  The angle this photo was taken is not from a traditional sports photographer’s angle but the photographer appears to be back in the crowd rather than sitting on baseline – the different angle is in harmony with the irregularity of an Asian American guard driving the ball down the lane in the NBA.

Keep up the good work, Jeremy.  Continue kicking ass and remain humble.

You make us proud.
