Trey Ratcliff’s Santa Monica Photo Walk
My buddy Bill and I went to the Santa Monica Pier for Trey Ratcliff’s photo walk. It was great meeting Trey as his pictures inspired me to pick up a camera.
There were hundreds of photographers lined up and down the shore (about 400 registered for the walk). I was lucky enough to get a few shots without any photographers in the scene. The above consists of 7 exposures processed in Photomatix Pro with some tweaking in Photoshop.
Just north of the pier there was a model shoot. About 5 photographers were shooting this and a few other girls in bikinis. It was way too cold to be prancing around in a bikini but they didn’t seem to mind. The models weren’t part of the photo walk but fun to shoot nonetheless.
Here are some of the photo walk participants, including Trey, waving at the helicopter that did a flyby specifically for the photo walk.
There were so many photographers at the walk, Trey and his coaches climbed halfway up this staircase to address the mass of photographers.
Here’s a shot that my buddy Bill took of Trey and me.
